A man who used to live in Eau Claire will spend more than 8-years in prison for having child pornography.

65-year-old Robert Eckert was sentenced in federal court Wednesday after he pleaded guilty federal charges. He admitted that he had the child porn at his former home in Eau Claire in 2004 and at his current home in Michigan.

The U.S. Attorney says Eckert's sentence was enhanced because of the violent nature of the images.
