Crews battle apartment fire in Eau Claire, roads reopened
Fire crews have put out an apartment fire at 2417 Golf Road in Eau Claire.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Fire crews have put out an apartment fire at an apartment fire in Eau Claire.

The fire happened around 5 p.m. Saturday at an 8-plex apartment at 2417 Golf Road in Eau Claire.

Crews say flames and heavy smoke were coming from the attic of the building.

Eau Claire Fire Battalion Chief Allyn Bertrang says no one is hurt at this time.

Roads were closed on Golf Road, stretching from London Road to Fairfax Street, but have since reopened.

Bertrang says Red Cross is on scene assisting the residents.

The Eau Claire Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.

Our photographer on scene says flames and heavy smoke are coming from the top of the two story apartment.

Roads are closed near the Dairy Queen on Golf Road and Fairfax Street.

The Eau Claire Fire Department and Police Department are on scene.
