Be careful about particular emails this holiday season and unfamiliar solicitations.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin chapter of the Better Business Bureau has several tips to help holiday shoppers avoid four common scams.

One comes in an email, asking the recipient to open an attachment to track a package. The BBB says by opening the attachment it will expose a computer to malware and virus attacks.

Another scam involves websites that offer electronics or luxury goods at prices that are too good to be true. The BBB says cheap prices may be a trap.

The BBB also cautions against bogus charitable pleas and warns people to be wary of solicitations from charities they are not familiar with.

The fourth common scam is for hackers to send phishing emails pretending to be from well-known companies or major retailers with links to package tracking information.
