BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Ron Saari became the Black River Falls Superintendent in 2009. During that time, School Board President Mary Jo Rozmenoski says a lot of new initiatives were implemented in the district.

But at the end of September, she says the board received two verbal complaints about Saari. He was put on paid administrative leave and an investigation was launched.

"The board has sought legal counsel through this and taken their advice and followed everything we need to do," Rozmenoski said.

She could not specify what the complaints were about, citing privacy laws.

But on December 14th, she says both the board and Saari mutually agreed on his resignation.

"We felt it was in the best interest of the district and Mr. Saari to seek new leadership opportunities," she said.

She says Saari will be placed on paid administrative leave until June 30th as the district looks for a new superintendent.

The district says he was paid $22,264.32 between the day he was placed on paid administrative leave and his resignation date. When his leave is done on June 30th, the district's numbers show he will have been paid about $82,200 plus benefits.

"With the resignation of Ron Saari, the board has closed its investigation of the complaints against him," she added.

Rozmenoski says the district has begun its search for a new superintendent and hopes to have a new person in place by July 1st.

We tried calling Saari at home for comment but were not able to reach him.
