Catholic Charities and The Salvation Army offer back to school programs

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Applications are now available for two programs that help students have the supplies they need for a better school year.

The Salvation Army and Catholic Charities in La Crosse are taking applications for their back to school programs.

You can pick up an application at The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and La Crosse County Human Services.

The Salvation Army's Steppin' Back to School program supplies students with a new shirt, pair of pants and pair of shoes.

Applicants must be in kindergarten through twelfth grade, live in La Crosse County and meet low income guidelines.

It's also open to the first 450 applicants.

“If you have new pair of clothes and new set of shoes you can wear then you just go back to school that first day looking good, feeling confident and it's a great way to help kids fit in on that first day of school,” said The Salvation Army public relations and development director Julie Nelson.
