(WEAU) - After more than 20 years of discussion, it looks like the Chippewa Falls and Chippewa County dispatch centers will finally merge.
The Chippewa County Board approved the merger Thursday night. The Chippewa Falls City Council approved it on Tuesday. Mayor Greg Hoffman says the merger would save the city money, time and possibly lives.
He says the centers could combine by sometime this summer.
