DECISION 2012: Chris Murphy wins Connecticut Senate seat

Connecticut (AP) -Democrat Chris Murphy elected to Senate in Connecticut, defeats pro wrestling magnate, according to the Associated Press.
No Connecticut race has garnered more attention, both inside and outside the state, than the open U.S. Senate seat.
The Senate seat had been held by retiring independent Joe Lieberman. Murphy was greatly outspent by McMahon. McMahon spent more than $42 million of her own money on the Senate bid.
