EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Despite the bitter cold weather, families layered up and lined the freshly coated sidewalks to watch the 2nd annual Clearwater Winter Parade in Eau Claire.

Water Street was decked out with more than 60 floats with flashing lights and music Sunday night.

The thermometer read -4 degrees during the parade and the wind-chill was 15 below.

But that was no problem, especially for the little ones, who just wanted to get a glimpse of all the spectacular displays.

“We didn't get to see much last year because we got here really late so we had to stand behind all the other people, this year we came extra early to get front row seats,” said Shaila Lequia who sat right in front to watch the parade.

New this year, fireworks went off throughout the entire parade, providing a magical, holiday backdrop. A family fun celebration continued afterwards at Hobbs Ice Center with activities and food.

WEAU is a proud sponsor of the Clearwater Winter Parade. You may have caught the live broadcast with WEAU’s Judy Clark and Chris Herzog during the parade.
