EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Crews are at the scene of a rollover crash on the 53 Bypass near the River Prairie Exit.

It happened in the northbound lanes of the freeway around 4 p.m. Monday. A picture from the scene shows two cars in the ditch, one of which ended up on its top, and a limousine with front-end damage.

Traffic was blocked off in the northbound lanes, but officers were letting traffic back on at the River Prairie Exit just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The Eau Claire Police Department sent a tweet about the wreck at about 4:20 p.m. Monday, saying that there is “significant road blockage,” and that drivers should avoid the area.

A state patrol lieutenant says his agency is there to control traffic, and that the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. A call to the sheriff’s department seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Another crash happened further north on the 53 Bypass, near the North Crossing exit, just before the crash involving the limousine. A car ended up in the median. Traffic was backed-up in the northbound lanes of the freeway.
