(WEAU) - Voters in Eleva-Strum's district will be asked to help save programs by approving a referendum in April.
This week the school board approved a referendum to exceed the revenue limits by $600,000 for two years. The superintendent says because enrollment has been dropping for ten years, they've had to cut staff to balance the budget.
He says the district can't continue to balance the budget without cutting programs.
He says the money is needed to simply keep up with the costs of running a school.
