Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) -- Angelica Susen says she hoping the Clearwater Winter Parade can be a new tradition for her family. She says when she was 5, she remembers some winter fun down on Barstow, but it was nothing compared to what the city has planned for this Saturday and that has her excited!
"I remember being close to here at Pizza Plus. I can see it in some of my pictures where I’m petting the horses."
That was back in 1995. There were horses, Santa and winter time fun, but it wasn’t as elaborate as the festivities other cities and towns have.
"You know the last two years, even before I had her, I actually went up to the Chippewa parade. You know it's just something nice for the community to get together and you know have something like that. Kids love it," Susen told reporter Matt Hoffman.
That's why she’s so excited to take her daughter Ava down to Water Street this Saturday for the Clearwater Winter Parade.
"I think it'll be fun for me to go and go with her....see her reaction. I think it's also really cool what they're doing at Hobbs. You know having free hot cocoa, the cookie, ornament decorating. I think that will be really neat to go to because even when they had the parade I don’t remember doing anything like that when I was a kid."
She hopes to make an ornament with little Ava to remember the evening.
"I think that'd be really neat. At least that way you have something to look back on and say hey I remember going to this. I remember doing this."
