EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The City of Eau Claire has announced when it will present findings of the UW-Eau Claire student gas price study.
The presentation is scheduled for December 12 at 7 p.m., during the Fiscal Policy Advisory Commission meeting.
Students in UW-Eau Claire’s Geography and Anthropology Department conducted the study, under the direction of two professors. It was aimed at providing a “real world” project for the students, and an educational tool for the public.
The presentation is expected to include a description of the market structure of the retail gas market in Eau Claire and other cities, a synopsis of the Wisconsin Minimum Markup law, and the gas tax structures in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.
UW-Eau Claire and the City of Eau Claire helped pay for the study.
