(WEAU) - Governor Scott Walker was in the Chippewa Valley Thursday.
The governor was at the ribbon cutting for the expansion of Premium Waters in Chippewa Falls. The manager says the expansion will increase the amount of production from about 13 million to 30 million cases of water next year.
It will also bring about 35 new jobs to the area.
Walker said Thursday "it's a good sign not just for jobs and the people who already work here but will work here because of this expansion, but also because of the message it sends when you got a company like this willing to make an investment and grow, it sends a message to other employers and that's what we want to do all across the state."
The city of Chippewa Falls and the state awarded $500,000 in grants for the $17 million project.
