LADYSMITH, Wis. (WEAU) – A bomb squad says a woman did in fact find a live grenade from WWII in her garage in Bruce.

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Department says someone was cleaning out their garage at a home on 2nd Street in Bruce Thursday afternoon. They found a hand grenade. Crews responded just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Since the department is not equipped to deal with the situation, it called the Marathon County Bomb Squad. It determined it is a live grenade and is taking it for detonation at a later training drill.

Nobody in the area had to be evacuated.
