A group of Mechanical Contractors and UW-Stout Mechanical Construction students inspected furnaces in several Dunn County homes for free Saturday morning. All to make sure families will stay safe and warm as winter approaches.
The lead mechanical contractor tells us this was the fourth year of the partnership. The teams inspected eight homes and tried to tune all the furnaces up so they will be in good working order as the chilly air sets in.
One contractor tells us even a slight tune up can do big things for the efficiency of a furnace.
“Even the smallest things, just changing a filter, people don’t realize that just changing a filter can increase the efficiency of that furnace,” says Contractor Brian Fiore.
The contractors also tested fire and carbon monoxide detectors and replaced old ones.
