NEW INFORMATION: Lanes re-opened after truck fire on Highway 29

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - UPDATE: All lanes of traffic are back open after a truck caught fire on Highway 29 Wednesday morning.

It happened just before 8 a.m. in the westbound lanes of 29 at 40th Avenue near Chippewa Falls.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department and Lake Hallie police say a man noticed smoke in the truck and pulled over. He was able to get out before the truck went up in flames and was not hurt. The truck is a total loss.

Deputies closed the westbound lanes while they cleared the scene. It was re-opened by about 9:30 a.m.

Chippewa Falls, WI (WEAU) - Right now the westbound lanes of WIS 29 at 40th Avenue are closed because of a vehicle fire.

Its estimated to last about 2 hours.

No word on if anyone is injured.
