EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The beautiful weather brought hundreds out to walk for a good cause on Saturday in Eau Claire.
The annual Walk for Multiple Sclerosis raises money for MS research and scholarships to help those in Wisconsin living with the disease.
MS is a progressive disease that affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other effectively.
People joining the walk could choose to walk 3 ½ miles or five miles.
“I think this is a great way to help your community and help those suffering with this disease and help find a cure for this incurable disease,” said volunteer Maria Phelps.
MS walks are being held all over the state. Last year the campaign raised $1.5 million.
WEAU’s Judy Clark emceed the event.
