Junior Achievement puts on Hospitality and Tourism Day

(WEAU) - More than a hundred high school students around the area got to learn about a career in the tourism industry Wednesday.

It was Junior Achievement's 3rd Annual Hospitality and Tourism Day, held at Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire. The students were able to learn from business professionals about what it takes to succeed in those industries, and where to find jobs.

Senior at Memorial High School Dane Neville described one of the activities. "We had to pick a musical group, we had to pick a place to have the event, we had to pick transportation and we had to learn through the entire process, you could either hire out to make a logo or you could make it yourself and the entire idea behind it was to balance a budget in a way that either we didn't lose too much money or we actually broke even."

Several other businesses from around the area participated in the event.
