(WEAU) - Tuesday, former State Representative Kristin Dexter, an Eau Claire democrat, announced she'll run against Senator Terry Moulton if there's a recall election.
She says she wants to bring stability to the state. Dexter said Tuesday "You know right now we've got a lot of economic power at the very very top. The very very wealthy and the very well connected. And that's not a recipe for long term stability."
Dexter lost her bid for re-election in the 68th Assembly seat to Kathy Bernier in 2010.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Committee to Elect a Republican Senate said “we look forward to comparing Terry Moulton's record of successful reform and fulfilled campaign promises to Dexter's record of job killing tax increases and empty liberal rhetoric.”

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two former legislators and a veteran state representative say they'll challenge a trio of Republican state senators in possible recall elections later this year.
Democrats angry over Republican support for Gov. Scott Walker's contentious collective bargaining bill have mounted recall attempts against Sens. Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls, Pam Galloway of Wausau, Van Wanggaard of Racine and Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau.
Former state Rep. Kristin Dexter, an Eau Claire Democrat, says she'll run against Moulton. Dexter served in the Assembly in 2009 and 2010.
Former state Sen. John Lehman, a Racine Democrat, will run against Wanggaard. Assembly Assistant Minority Leader Donna Seidel, a Wausau Democrat, will run against Galloway.
No candidates have emerged to challenge Fitzgerald yet.

Moulton Campaign spokesman Nick Lauren issued the following statement in response to Kristen Dexter's campaign announcement:
“Earlier today, Madison special interests and union activists chose Kristen Dexter as the candidate to represent big-spending special interests in the 23rd Senate District recall election. The special interests that are financing and directing this recall election clearly want someone who will do their bidding as they attempt to return us to the failed status quo of skyrocketing budget deficits and massive tax hikes. During her tenure in the State Assembly, Kristen Dexter voted for more than $5 billion in tax increases on Wisconsin citizens. Dexter also presided over the loss of more than 120,000 Wisconsin jobs while in office, including 14 straight months of job losses following her election.”
“Taxpayers cannot afford Kristin Dexter and her special interest friends who want to increase taxes on our families and bankrupt our state with their big spending ways. They want us to return to the failed policies of the past and they are counting on Kristin Dexter and her 98% record of voting with Governor Doyle to take the lead as they try to turn back the clock.”
“Finally, the shadowy groups pulling the strings on this recall have shown themselves and revealed what their agenda is – bigger government, more spending and higher taxes. We look forward to speaking with voters about Dexter’s dismal record on jobs and the economy, her ties to big-spending special interests, and their plan to spend more money on state government while taxpayers foot the bill with even more massive tax increases.”
