LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- The founder of Logistics Health says the future is bright for the La Crosse company.

LHI has won a 5-year contract with the U.S. Department of Defense worth up to $749 million. The company will continue to provide medical and dental services through the federal Reserve Health Readiness Program.

LHI has been involved in the readiness program since 2001 and currently has a contract that expires in March.

LHI has about 900 employees in the La Crosse area. The company was acquired in 2011 by OptumHealth of Golden Valley, Minn., which is part of health care giant UnitedHealth Group of Minnetonka, Minn.
