(WEAU) - A sea of pink has been greeting patients and visitors at area hospitals this week.
Employees, volunteers and doctors at Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's hospitals have been wearing pink in an effort to support breast cancer awareness. This is the second year the hospitals have put on the "Real Men Wear Pink" event.
Organizers say they hope wearing pink will encourage people to ask their friends and family to get their mammograms.
Director of Cancer Services, Georgia Smith told us Wednesday “everyone from the lab to the food and nutrition services to administrators to the fellas that keep our equipment up and running, everybody gets involved because they all have a piece of taking care of our cancer patients.”
