Man arrested after officers find hundreds of dollars worth of drugs on him

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU)--Police catch a man with hundreds of dollars worth of drugs on him after a chase.

La Crosse Police say officers were going to a house on Jackson Street last Friday as part of a drug investigation, when 30-year-old Jonathan Banaszkiewicz took off. Officers caught him after a short chase, and found 5.2 grams of meth and 8 pills of an ADHD medication on him. Police say he also threw a handgun on the ground during the chase.

He was on probation after being convicted last year of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of meth.

Once officers searched the home, they say they found marijuana and prescription drugs and arrested a second man, 49-year-old John Irvin, for possession
