(WEAU) - A man has been charged with endangering safety after he hit a bar while trying to hit a person.
The criminal complaint says Joshua Bahling, 24, of Menomonie is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety and two counts of damage to property. It says an officer saw Bahling driving at high speeds on South Broadway Street and began following him.
The officer says he jumped a curb and ran through stop signs and red lights. He then hit Das Bier Haus bar, taking out a road sign in the process. It says he stopped, then got out of the car with his hands above his head and told the officer quote "I’m really sorry. I'm really drunk."
The complaint says Bahling also told officers he had an argument with a group of people and admitted he was trying to hit one of them with his car.
