Man dies after falling into Lake Flambeau

LADYSMITH, Wis. (RUSK COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) - During the evening of July 29th at 8:18PM, the Rusk County Sheriff s Office received a 911 call reporting a possible drowning on Lake Flambeau, Rusk County.

Emergency responders that included the Rusk County Sheriff s Office, Ladysmith Fire Department and Rusk County Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

It was learned that an elderly male individual had fallen into the lake from a dock; a passing boater assisted the male individual back onto the dock. Emergency responders tended to the male individual and he was transported to Rusk County Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

The male individual later passed away at Rusk County Memorial Hospital. It is undetermined at this time the cause of death, the cause of death is currently being investigated by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office and the Rusk County Coroner's Office, no foul play is suspected. Name of the victim is not being release at this time pending notification of relatives.
