Medical issues caused car accident in Pierce Co.

UNION, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators say medical issues may be to blame for a car accident in Pierce County.

According to Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, around 3:30 Saturday afternoon, it got a call about a one car crash on 220th street in Union Township.

A car driven by 44-year-old Shanna Vogel of Maiden Rock was headed north on 210th when it missed a turn. The car left the roadway, into a cornfield and came to stop at a hayfield.

She was flown to Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Deputies said she suffered medical issues causing the crash.
