WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department says murder charges have now been filed against Joseph Reinwand in 2008 death of Dale Meister.
A press conference was held Friday morning in Wisconsin Rapids. Police didn't not specify what lead to the arrest, but say they have been investigating the case diligently and continued to conduct interviews.
On March 4, 2008, Meister was found shot to death in his Wisconsin Rapids mobile home. Within a month, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department narrowed their search and began to focus on one man.
All along police believed they knew who committed the murder, but never had the evidence to prove it.
Now, Joseph Reinwand, 53, is charged with 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, Arson of Building w/ Intent to Defraud and two counts of bail jumping. His first court date has been set for June 19.
He continues to serve a five year sentence in the Stanley Prison for burglary and weapons convictions. His scheduled release date is February 2016.
