LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Some musicians with ties to the Coulee Region took a break from rehearsing and performing to raise awareness for Habitat for Humanity.

On Thursday the La Crosse Area Habitat for Humanity held its kick off event for it’s sixth annual Raise the Roof concert.

Proceeds from the event will help build homes in the La Crosse area.

Some who are performing were at 901 Denton Street in La Crosse working on a home for a family of ten.

Those worked on the house include “American Idol” semi-finalist and UW-L alum Reed Grimm, Andy Hughes from TUGG and Ryan Conrad from Click Track.

“I would love to meet the family, I mean it is rewarding within itself that when you’re actually able to talk to the family and have that rapport with them, it just becomes more and more real,” said Reed Grimm.

The concert is November 16 at the La Crosse Center’s North Hall.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
