STANLEY, Wis. (WEAU) – The FBI is looking into how hackers apparently got into the Stanley-Boyd School District's direct deposit file.
The district says nearly $150,000 is missing from the file. Anchor bank told the district about it on November 21, and made sure employees got their paychecks on time.
The bank already retrieved what the district describes as "a good portion" of the money, and the schools have insurance that will cover any money they can't get back.
The district says it won't be impacted financially.
Right now, the FBI is trying to figure out exactly where the money was raided.
