NEW INFORMATION: Pediatrician enters not guilty pleas

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – An Eau Claire pediatrician accused of child sexual abuse has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

David Van de Loo, 60, of Eau Claire appeared in court for an arraignment Tuesday morning. The former Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire pediatrician faces 17 criminal charges. A change of venue motion was filed Monday. It could be taken up in May.

Van de Loo’s attorney, Rich White, says a trial may not be scheduled until fall, and could last two-and-a-half weeks.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Two new charges have been filed against Dr. David Van de Loo, former pediatrician at Mayo Clinic Health System.

In court Tuesday, the judge granted Van de Loo and his attorney Rich White's request to wave rights to a preliminary hearing.

In addition 15 charges already filed against Van de Loo, two other charges were added Tuesday.

Count 16 is sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age. The latest criminal complaint goes onto say Van de Loo had sexual contact with a child 13-year-old on or around January 23, 2007.

Count 17 is 2nd degree sexual assault by employee of entity. According to the complaint, around August 24, 2012 when Van de Loo was an employee of Mayo Clinic Health System, he had sexual contact with an 18-year-old patient.

Both Van de Loo's attorney and the Eau Claire County district attorney declined to comment.

That's now a total of 17 charges filed against Van de Loo.

The judge said a date for an arraignment will be scheduled.
