(WEAU) - A ceremony was held at Northwoods Elementary Friday to honor veterans.
Students and vets sang songs together and there was a moment of silence for those who lost their lives. Fifth graders also announced they'll start collecting money to help send a veteran on a Freedom Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Teacher Vance Mead says "I think our students need to know what freedom comes at a price. That there are men and women out there willing to lay it all out on the line."
