LA CROSSE, Wis (WEAU)- It’s been two and a half weeks since the Petras double homicide happened in downtown La Crosse.
Police have released no new information on the deaths of AJ and Paul Petras since the week of their murder.
Assistant Chief Robert Abraham did say that investigators do have plenty on information on the case, but they are choosing to not release anything yet. Abraham would not say if the undisclosed information was about a suspect/s or not.
AJ and Paul Petras were shot to death in their family business Mays Photo September 15th, in the afternoon.
The police department said that they have no new information on any new leads, or suspects in custody but stated that the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who has information about anything suspicious that happened on Saturday the 15th or has surveillance video from that day in the main street area should contact police immediately.
The time that it is taking to find the killer has members of the community getting discouraged.
"Two and a half weeks is a really long time to not have heard anything, and people are already starting to not talk about it. It’s frustrating because you want closure for the family and you want to find out what happened,” said Finnottes owner Laurie Finn.
Family and friends of AJ and Paul Petras have raised reward money for anyone who comes forward with new information about the murders. They have already raised more than 7 thousands dollars. Anyone who wishes to donate to the reward fund can do so at State Bank in La Crosse.
