FAIRCHILD, WIS. (WEAU) -- It's opening even in Fairchild where Brian Davis and his friends are sitting around a warm fire, waiting for morning when they will wake up early and go out to hopefully get their deer.

For Brian, it is a return to an activity he loves, and is coming back to after a decade.

"A lot of work came around and I just had to give it up for ten years," Davis said.

But this year, he reached a decision.

"Ten years I start getting a little ahead, and saying I'm going hunting," he said.

But he is hunting among friends. One of them is Dale Stevenson who on the other hand has been hunting for decades.

"I missed last year because I changed jobs, but otherwise I haven't missed one in 30 years," Stevenson said.

Coming home with deer is the ultimate goal. But all men agree the weekend is also about bonding.

Stevenson's son will be joining tomorrow, tonight his son-in-law, Shanineoea, is by his side. All three of them with different hunting experiences, coming together to share an activity they love. And one they hope to pass it on to another generation.

"My kids like being outdoors and can't wait until they get older and I can bring them out to hunt and stuff," he said.

And as for Davis, his kids are already working toward getting a license.

"You gotta thin the herd otherwise people are gonna get hurt in cars, it's a great way to get out with family and friends, you gotta do it," he said.
