Pridemore stops in Eau Claire to launch run for State Superintendent

(WEAU) - Republican state representative Don Pridemore says he wants to be Wisconsin’s top education leader.

Pridemore launched his candidacy in Madison and was at Eau Claire North Monday evening. He is taking on incumbent Tony Evers, who has held the nonpartisan job of secretary of the Department of Public Instruction since 2009.

Pridemore says he will offer a "common sense, conservative approach" to the job.

“If you believe as I do, that the most important reason to have public education is to get our graduates into employment, you must agree that we are failing far too many,” Pridemore told us Monday.

Pridemore currently serve as representative of the 99th Assembly District.
