Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU)-- The Eau Claire City Council has voted in favor of a proposed fund that would help improve the community.
The Eau Claire Public Spirit Fund was unveiled Monday night and was approved on Tuesday.
It will be a fund for projects laid out by the Waterways plan.
Those projects include an accessible fishing dock on Half Moon Lake and the construction of a boat launch on the Chippewa River in Domer Park.
The fund will be 100% donation funded.
(WEAU) - People in Eau Claire got to hear about a proposed fund that would raise money to help improve the community through projects.
At Monday night's Eau Claire City Council meeting, the Eau Claire Public Spirit Fund was unveiled. It initially would be a fund to help make a couple of projects laid out by the Eau Claire Waterways Plan come to fruition, which include an accessible fishing dock on Half Moon Lake and the construction of a boat launch on the Chippewa River in Domer Park.
City Council President Kerry Kincaid told us “If our city is a better place to more around in and enjoy then we all are better off.”
The creation of the fund will be taken up by the city council Tuesday night. It would consist of 100% donations and people could contribute through the mail or online.
