(WEAU) - A local hospital tackled the issue of bullying Tuesday night in Eau Claire.
Sacred Heart Hospital's Behavioral Health Clinic hosted a free bullying prevention event at the Metropolis Resort. It offered information, guidance and motivation for kids who are affected by bullying and their families.
Officer Andrew Wise with the Eau Claire Police Department told us a couple of the things parents can do to help their children if they're being bullied or are bullying others. "Setting a good example for them. Showing their kids in their homes how to have conflict resolution skills. We know we're going to have issues with people, whether your young or old, an how you go about dealing with that," said Wise.
Sacred Heart says more than 600,000 kids in the U.S. afraid to go to school every day and millions more being cyber-bullied.
