(WEAU) - Will the Eau Claire School Board buy Epiphany Lutheran Church? The board is working on two options
During its meeting Monday night, they looked into three options but are focusing on two of them.
Option 1: borrowing the money needed to buy the $2.85 million building.
Or option 3: dipping into its funds and buying it outright.
The first option would require voters to say yes to the loan. The board is trying to solve an overcrowding issue with the district's early learning programs and thinks that building would work. However, the initial referendum to buy the property was turned down.
The board has to decide what it wants to do at its next meeting if it's going to make it in time for a referendum.
