CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - A Stanley police officer is now charged with sexual assault.
According to the criminal complaint, Terry Karlen was off-duty when a 30-year-old woman says the assault happened this past June. The complaint says the woman told investigators she asked Karlen to give her a ride home from the Stanley Rodeo because she was too drunk to drive. She claims officer Karlen agreed to drive her home, but then took her to a cemetery where he sexually assaulted her.
Karlen is scheduled to be in court in February.
