State warns of Medicare Card scam
(WEAU) - If you get a call claiming that you need a replacement Medicare Card, hang up.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says it’s a scam. It says a group calling itself "Preferred Benefits to Seniors" will ask you to "verify" your personal information and ask for your bank account number.
The department says if you get this type of call, hang up immediately.
If you or a family member has already given out bank information, call the bank and tell them what happened.
