ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) - Kids at the Altoona Middle School wanted to help out those in need, so one of them came up with a creative idea.
On Thursday and Friday, the students took part in "Soda for Sandy." They sold soda at the school and are donating all the proceeds to the Red Cross. It will then give the money to victims of Superstorm
Sandy.
The students were able to raise more than $200.
"It was just kind of recent and we thought that they were in need," Student Council Treasurer Katie Schubring said.
The event was such a huge success that the students actually ran out of soda both days and had to run and get more!
