TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WEAU)--The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says a 14-year-old was taken to the hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the hand.
Deputies say the teenager was trying to clear a malfuntion of a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun when his hand moved in front of the muzzle of the weapon and the gun went off.
Deputies say the boy's hand was "grazed" by the bullet. He was taken to a La Crosse hospital with minor injuries.
The teen had been target shooting at the time of the incident. There is no indication of foul play and the shooting appears to have been unintentional.
