Three hurt in traffic crash

(WEAU) - A two car crash sent three people to the hospital in Monroe County.

The Tomah Police Department says it happened last night on N. Superior Avenue. Police say a 17-year-old girl didn't yield to a car being driven by a 61-year-old woman.

It says the both of them, along with a 12-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car driven by the teen, were taken to a local hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.


TOMAH, Wis. (TOMAH POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) - On 7-22-13 at 1815, the Tomah Police Department was notified of a traffic crash at the intersection of N. Superior Avenue at Wittig Road. Upon arrival, it was determined that two vehicles were involved in a traffic crash that resulted in multiple injuries.

Further investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by a 17 year old female was on Wittig Road approaching the intersection of N. Superior Avenue. That vehicle failed to yield to a second vehicle operated by a 61 year old female traveling north on N. Superior Avenue causing a traffic crash. As a result of the crash, the 17 year old female and her passenger, a 12 year old female, were transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital along with the 61 year old female driver of the other vehicle. All of the injuries sustained as a result of this crash appear to be non-life threatening.

The Tomah Police Department was assisted on scene by the Tomah Fire Department and the Tomah Area Ambulance Service.
