WINONA, Minn. (WEAU) -- An area city is hoping to redevelop some empty space that once had three businesses.

The buildings that were in this space on third and center streets in downtown Winona, Minnesota, were torn down after a fire in September.

Brosnahan Law Firm, Sole Sport and the Islamic Center used to be there.

Brosnahan Law Firm and Sole Sport have found new space, but assistant city planner Carlos Espinosa said the Islamic Center is still looking for space.

A stakeholders meeting will be held to get input about what could go into the empty space.

A consultant from Texas will also be at the meeting.

The consultant will use the feedback from the meeting to come up with conceptual designs of what could go in the space.

“We're really excited to get some input about what could go in to the spaces that were affected by downtown,” said Espinosa.

That meeting is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Misato Room at the Winona City Hall.

Espinosa said the meeting is open to the public.
