The state's transportation secretary talked to local business leaders Wednesday afternoon.
It was during a brown bag event at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe in Chippewa Falls.
Secretary Mark Gottlieb got feedback from the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation.
He says the issue he hears the most about is trying to balance the department's need for a safe, efficient road system, while meeting businesses needs for easy access to that system.
"We look to partner with people to work through all those issues so that at the end of the day, if we're building a project and we're building something for the long term, that's going to be beneficial to our state's economy and the economy of that region where we're locating it," says Gottlieb.
He added that a major project on I-94 in St. Croix County is up for consideration in the near future.
