Wisconsin actor who passed away hunting to be laid to rest Dec. 7

TOMAHAWK, Wis. (AP) The funeral for a 50-year-old comic actor who had an apparent heart attack while hunting in Wisconsin will be next weekend.

Tomahawk native Jay Leggett appeared in such shows as "Ally McBeal," "In Living Color" and "NYPD Blue" and went on to write, produce and act in several movies.

He died Nov. 23, the opening day of deer season at a family cabin in Tomahawk.

Funeral services are scheduled for Dec. 7 in Tomahawk.

One of Leggett's recent efforts was a 2011 documentary called "To The Hunt," which chronicles the Wisconsin hunting culture as told through scenes at several Lincoln County hunting shacks.

His younger brother, Josh Leggett, says it was clear from an early age that he was doing what he loved.
