(WEAU) - We've been a roller coaster ride of weather this spring and Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes each year.
But how do you stay safe when conditions get scary?
This week is Wisconsin's Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week. That means it’s that time of year again where you should evaluate a plan with your family on how to stay safe.
Tod Pritchard, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with Wisconsin Emergency Management sat down with WEAU to talk about how you can be better prepared during storms and tornadoes.
On Thursday, April 18th a statewide tornado drill is planned. At 1:00pm, the National Weather Service will issue a statewide mock tornado watch and at 1:45pm a statewide mock tornado warning.
