5 PM INTERVIEW: Once Upon a Prom

About Once Upon A Prom
This event is run by volunteers in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club who recognize that Prom is a pivotal event in a girl’s life. With fond memories of their own proms, their wish is for every girl to have the ability to experience Prom regardless of their financial situation. This will be a fun event for the girls complete with hair and makeup lessons, and a fun shopping experience. All dresses will be donated with the requirement that each girl complete six hours of community service to qualify.

How to apply? Fill out the application form at Onceuponaprom.com

Community Service Requirements: In order to qualify for a free dress and to attend the Once Upon a Prom event, all girls must complete six hours of community service. This should be documented on the application.

Community Service Opportunities: Create your own! Babysit for free, shovel a neighbor’s driveway, walk dogs, use your imagination! The Boys & Girls Club also has hours available to complete the requirement.

What can I expect at the event? It will be fun! You will receive a personal shopper to help you select your items. There will be stylists on hand to give hair and make-up lessons. We will also have seamstresses to hem your dress.

Volunteer Seamstress Needed
We are in need of seamstresses to hem dresses at the event.

We also need help to set up and to be personal shoppers. You can come for the entire event or just a few hours. Please contact us at onceuponaprom.com to sign up to volunteer.
