The 13th Annual Empty Bowls Event is March 7 at The Florian Gardens in Eau Claire.
Feed My People Food Bank will hold its 13th annual Empty Bowls benefit from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at The Florian Gardens, 2340 Lorch Ave., Eau Claire.
Empty Bowls is a fundraiser serving locally made soup, specialty breads and desserts where guests can chose to take an “Empty Bowl” home with them. These bowls are donated by local students, community members, and artisans. Empty Bowls will also feature silent auctions where patrons can bid on hand-crafted items also made by local artisans.
This year the annual event will be held at The Florian Gardens instead of Trinity Lutheran Church as it has been in the past. Thanks to wonderful attendance and community backing, the event needed a larger venue to accommodate more guests. Feed My People thanks Trinity Lutheran Church for its continued support.
Ticket prices are $18 for a meal and hand-designed bowl or $8 for the meal alone. Children age 10 and under are free. Bowl numbers are limited; advance ticket purchase is recommended. Advance tickets are available at the UW-Eau Claire Service Center, Feed My People Food Bank, and online at www.fmpfoodbank.org. Meal only tickets are available at the door. Guests may dine-in or take their meal to-go.
Feed My People Food Bank is a food distribution center that supplies more than 6 million pounds of food to annually to more than 100 hunger-relief agencies in 14 west central Wisconsin counties. Funds raised through Empty Bowls will provide meals for area families struggling with hunger.
