It's something that should not happen to anyone, but the reality is, it still does.

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Family Support Center in Chippewa Falls offers services for domestic violence intervention, sexual assault support and counseling, parent support and prevention services and community education and referral.

The center says services are confidential and free of charge.

The Family Support Center says if you're interested in volunteering or to reach out for services, call them at (715) 723-1138.

They also offer a 24 hour crisis line which can also be reached at 1-800-400-7020.

They are located at 403 North High Street Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

Officer hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
