EC Bully Free is an event put on by area Girl Scouts on May 18.
It's from 10:30am - 3:00pm at Owen Park in Eau Claire.
Bullying has become a problem in and out of our schools. Saturday May 18th there will be community members presenting information.
Heather Rothbauer-Wanish from Feather Communications will be presenting about the online factor in bullying. Facebook and how to be safe from both the parent and child’s topics.
Melissa Richardson from New Auburn will be presenting about her push with the Wisconsin State Legislators to have laws enacted to help stop bullying. Her daughter committed suicide a year ago as a result of a bullying.
Jeni Gronemus from Sacred Heart hospital will be presenting about the resources that they have to help those who are struggling. They will also be helping to define the different roles in the bullying process. From the victim, bully, bystanders, and the defenders.
There will also be short stroll on the walking path that will have facts about bullying placed along the trail.
There will be a raffle.
Shirts will be given to the first 200 registered participants.
