A Food for Kidz event is April 27 to pack rice for Haiti.
The Mission Coalition and CHIP Requests Donations and Volunteers for the 2013 Food For Kidz Event
CHIPPEWA FALLS –
Saturday April 27 will be the Mission Coalition’s fourth Food For Kidz event to stave off hunger for children in Haiti. With a goal of packaging 285,000 meals in one day the Mission Coalition asks you to please donate and/or volunteer.
The Mission Coalition is a group of 14 local churches working together on local and global mission projects in partnership with the Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership.
Through the organization Food For Kidz, in 2012 the Mission Coalition packaged and delivered 590,000 rice meals to children at Haitian Christian Missions in Haiti.
The group again will host a rice packing event for Food For Kidz (formerly Kids Against Hunger) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Parkview elementary school, 501 Jefferson Ave. As they aim to package 280,000 meals that day, the group is asking for help from everyone in the following ways:
1. Donate $36.00 plus an hour of your time to purchase and package 216 rice meals.
2. Donate $36.00 or more to allow a volunteer who is unable to pay to help package food on April 27th.
3. Volunteer to help the day of the event with set-up, unloading, ingredient distribution, or clean-up.
